§ 36.127 RELIGIOUS OR ETHNIC HOLIDAYS.
   (A)   An employee who wishes to observe religious or ethnic holidays other than those which are listed in § 36.126 of this chapter may do so by notifying the Village Board in writing at least two weeks prior to such holiday. Late notices may be accepted or denied at the Village Board’s discretion.
   (B)   Employees may use a vacation day or trade such day for another holiday not of their observance or, alternatively, employees who have not accrued unused vacation days may be granted unpaid leave.
      (1)   Any holiday falling on Saturday will be celebrated on the preceding Friday. Any holiday falling on Sunday will be celebrated on the following Monday.
      (2)   Non-exempt regular full-time employees will be paid for the holiday plus one and one-half times their regular pay for any time worked on the holiday.
      (3)   Non-exempt regular part-time employees will not be paid for the holiday, but will be paid one and one-half times their regular pay for any time worked on the holiday.
      (4)   Temporary employees will be paid at their regular straight-time for hours worked on a holiday.
