(A) To prevent the sale of fraudulent, dangerous or unhealthful goods and services and to protect the public by maintaining records of the products sold and the persons and companies responsible for such sales, before doing business within the municipality, all itinerant for-profit merchants shall make application for, and be issued, a registration certificate.
(B) The cost of said registration certificate shall be the sum of $10 per day, or $100 annually. Application for said registration certificate shall be made to the Municipal Clerk and shall contain the name and address of the applicant, a summary of the goods to be sold or the services rendered, and the date (or dates) the business will be conducted within the municipality.
(C) In addition, for-profit food truck operators shall provide proof of a current and effective commercial liability insurance, photo ID, proof of a Nebraska state sales tax permit, if applicable, proof of a food establishment inspection permit, if applicable, and a description of the vehicle to be utilized, including license number.
(D) Applicants are responsible for obtaining permission from landowners to operate on private property.
(E) An applicant who will be in town conducting business on multiple days within a 12-month period shall have the option of applying for an annual permit. The village must be notified in writing of each date that the business will be conducted within the municipal limits prior to engaging in the activity.
(F) Farmer’s markets and non-profit organizations/sellers shall be exempt herefrom.
