(A) The powers and duties of the Youth Advisory Board shall be advisory in nature to the City Commission, but solely by and through the professional staff of the Recreation & Cultural Arts Department, and the City's Administration. The duties of the Board shall include but not be limited to the following:
(1) Identifying, researching, and analyzing issues impacting youth in the community;
(2) Advising the City Commission on matters impacting youth residing in and attending schools within the city;
(3) Recommending social, educational, cultural and recreational activities for youth within the city, and to assist with implementing those activities;
(4) Assisting with any other matters assigned to the Board by the City Manager; and
(5) Organizing or performing services or functions approved and directed by the City Manager.
(B) Service events. Board members shall participate in various events held by the city which give back to the community.
