(A) A franchisee, as compensation for the privilege granted under a franchise for the use of the city's streets to operate a private ambulance service in the city, shall pay to the city a franchise fee in an amount of $10 per trip, either originating or terminating in the city.
(B) A franchisee shall pay the franchise fee due to the city on a quarterly basis. Payment for each quarter shall be made to the city not later than 30 calendar days after the end of each calendar quarter.
(C) The franchise fee payment is not a payment in lieu of any other tax, fee or assessment.
(D) In the event that a franchise fee payment is not received by the city on or before the due date set forth in subsection (B) above, or is underpaid, the franchisee will be charged interest from the due date of 1 ½ % per month or part thereof of the amount of the unpaid or underpaid franchise fee payment, includes previous interest charges or the maximum amount allowed under Florida law, whichever is greater.
