§ 112.70 INTENT AND PURPOSE.
   It is the intent of the city and the purpose of this subchapter to promote the public health, safety and general welfare by providing for the grant of one or more franchises for the operation of ambulances within the city; to provide for the regulation, to the extent permitted by law, of each private ambulance service provider operating in the city in the public interest, to provide for the payment of fees and other valuable consideration by a franchisee to the city for the use of the streets by its ambulances; and to promote the safe and efficient use of the streets. Under no circumstances, should the intent and purpose of this subchapter be construed to regulate the standards and/or requirements for the provision of ambulance services or emergency medical services.
