§ 52.10 SYSTEM OF NUMBERING BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS.
   (A)   Single-family homes and duplexes. The owner of any single-family home or duplex facing, abutting, opening upon, or having its main entrance onto any public or private street, avenue, terrace, lane, or road located within the city shall have affixed thereto numbers not less than three inches in height, indicating the street address of the home or duplex. In addition, numbers may also be placed on a mailbox or lamppost.
   (B)   Apartment buildings and the like.
      (1)   All apartment buildings, commercial buildings, industrial buildings, and multi-story
buildings within the city shall be numbered with the street address, with the numbers being not less than six, nor more than nine inches in height.
      (2)   In addition to the provisions of subdivision (1), all commercial, industrial, and non-residential multi-story buildings having a rear and/or side door shall be numbered with the street address on the front and rear and/or side door, with the numbers being not less than six, nor more than nine inches in height.
      (3)   Apartments and multistory buildings, which abut a street or road and are not guarded or enclosed, having a rear/or side door shall be numbered with the street address on the front and rear or side door, with the numbers being not less than six, nor more than nine inches in height.
      (4)   Street addresses shall be included in all signs authorized in § 155.324(c)(5) of the Code of Ordinances and all outparcel monument signs.
   (C)   Offices and the like. All multifamily units, suites, rooms, and offices shall be numbered on the doors thereof, with all units on the first floor commencing with number 101 and all units on subsequent floors commencing with the number of the floor, as 201, 301, and the like. All numbers shall not be less than two inches in height. A directional sign indicating the numbering sequence shall be prominently displayed in all elevator lobbies.
   (D)   Numbers to be kept in good condition. The owner shall maintain numbers on his building provided herein in good condition and in a conspicuous place where they can be seen and read from the street. For the purpose of this section, the word OWNER shall include a lessee or agent in charge of the building.
   (E)   Required for issuance certificate of occupancy. All numbering required pursuant to this section shall be completed prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy for the building.
   (F)   Numbering done by city. In the event any owner fails to number or renumber any building as required by this section, the city may cause this to be done and bill the owner for the cost, which cost shall constitute a lien against the property until paid in full.
   (G)   Conformance required. All structures erected in the city, whether for single-family occupancy or for multi-family occupancy, or for commercial or industrial usage, or any structure for any purpose whatsoever shall conform to a uniform numbering system. All streets, whether named or numbered in any proposed development, shall be approved by the city’s building official. At the time of approval, all structures shall be designated with a numerical series of identification for the purpose of addresses and numbers, to be located on these structures in conformity with this section.
