(A) It shall be the policy of the city to permit other employees the opportunity of donating accrued leave time to a designated employee whenever extraordinary circumstances require the designated employee to be absent from work for a lengthy period of time, and when the designated employee has exhausted all of his/her personal accrued sick/vacation leave.
(B) Extraordinary circumstances shall be defined as, but not limited to, lengthy hospitalization, critical illness or injury.
