§ 10.17 OFFICIAL CITY SEAL.
   (A)   Design. The official city seal of the City of Pembroke Pines shall be a circle containing therein a setting sun in the background with its rays emanating therefrom with clouds in the sky and Slash Pine in the foreground over a field of Palmetto Shrubs and inscribed with the words “Join Us. Progress with Us,” as more particularly described as follows:
 
   (B)   Adopted. The seal set forth in this section is hereby and used by the city shall be and is hereby established and declared to have been and now to be the official seal of the City of Pembroke Pines.
   (C)   Custodian. The City Clerk is hereby declared to be the custodian of the Pembroke Pines city seal and shall be authorized to affix the seal to any document for the purpose of attesting, certifying or otherwise formalizing any ordinance, resolution, record, letter or other document or preparing official certified copies of same. Only the City Clerk, Deputy City Clerk or other person authorized by law shall be entitled to use the official city seal.
   (D)   Facsimiles; permitted for certificate official uses. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to permit facsimiles or reproductions of the official seal for municipal purposes, including but not exclusive of city and public officials’ stationery, business cards, proclamations, certificates and forms, badges and pins, official record books and code books.
   (E)   Approval required. Unless otherwise provided for herein, any facsimile or reproduction of the official city seal shall be manufactured, used, displayed, or otherwise employed by any person, firm or corporation only upon approval of the City Commission, upon application to it by such person, firm or corporation showing good cause for the use of the official city seal for a proper purpose. The City Manager may approve the use of the city seal for non-commercial purposes.
   (F)   Unauthorized use. No person, firm or corporation may use the official seal of the city or a facsimile or reproduction of same except as otherwise provided for in this section. Such unauthorized use shall constitute a violation of this section and may be punished pursuant to F.S. § 165.043, as amended from time to time. Nothing contained herein shall preclude the city from seeking further civil recourse in protecting its proprietary interests in the city seal.
