Term of office for each member shall be seven years, except that the initial appointees shall serve terms of one, two, three, four, five, six, and seven years, respectively, in such manner that one member’s term shall expire each year. In the event that a vacancy shall occur, the Mayor shall appoint a successor to complete an unexpired or expired term. Nothing in this subchapter shall prohibit any member from serving successive terms.
