Upon notification by representatives of the Police Department of the town that goods and articles or any other property, received on deposit or consignment, in pawn, pledge, trade or exchange, or by purchase, are the fruits of a crime, no auction house, junk dealer, pawnbroker or second-hand dealer shall dispose of the property in any way whatsoever. Interest upon the goods, articles and property shall cease to accrue on the date of notification.
