§ 33.13 OVERTIME PAY OF CHIEF OF POLICE, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS AND COMPTROLLER.
   The Chief of Police, the Night Captain, the Director of Public Works, the Assistant Director of Public Works, and the Comptroller are employed as supervisory personnel and under applicable statutes are not entitled to overtime pay. The City Council hereby states that it is the general policy of the city to pay to the Night Captain, Assistant Director of Public Works and the Comptroller overtime pay for services rendered to the city which are in excess of 40 hours per week or the usual and customary hours per shift when such overtime services are deemed necessary and appropriate by the Mayor. This policy does not include the Director of Public Works and the Chief of Police. Thus, subject to the consent of and approval by the Mayor, the Night Captain, the Assistant Director of Public Works and the Comptroller shall be paid for overtime hours after the approval of the same by the Mayor. The rate of overtime pay shall be an hourly wage equal to one and one-half times the person’s usual and customary hourly wage, based upon the wages set forth in this chapter, except benefit salary shall not be included in the overtime pay compensation.
