§ 33.022 BEREAVEMENT LEAVE.
   Employees shall be granted three work days per fiscal year without loss of pay, known as bereavement leave, which shall be non-cumulative past each fiscal year. Bereavement leave days may be applied to leave resulting from a death in an employee's family including, and limited to, an employee's parents, spouse, children, grandparents or grandchildren. Employees may be granted sick leave, not to exceed three consecutive work days, as a result of a death in the employee's family, including, and limited to, siblings, aunts, uncles and legal spouse's parents, siblings, children, grandchildren and grandparents. If an employee is called upon to be a pallbearer or participate in a funeral service, employee shall be excused but shall be required to take either vacation leave, comp time, or unpaid leave for the day of said funeral service.
