§ 31.030 EX OFFICIO CITY COLLECTOR.
   (A)   The City Comptroller shall be ex officio city collector and shall perform the following duties:
      (1)   Preserve all warrants returned to him or her;
      (2)   Keep such books and accounts as the City Council may direct;
      (3)   Keep all warrants, books, vouchers and papers pertaining to the office of collector open for the inspection of the Mayor or any member or committee of the City Council;
      (4)   Once each week, or oftener, if required by the Council, the Comptroller shall pay over to the City Treasurer all money collected as city collector from any source whatever; and
      (5)   Make additional reports to the Council of the city’s financial status as the Council may request or require by ordinance.
   (B)   At the close of the fiscal year the Comptroller shall place on file with the City Council a statement of all money collected during the year, the particular warrant or special assessment or account on which collected, the balance of money uncollected on all warrants in his or her possession and the balance remaining on all warrants during the preceding fiscal year and shall cause that statement to be published by the Clerk as provided by statute.
