§ 30.14 SUPERVISE CONDUCT OF OFFICERS.
   The Mayor shall supervise the conduct of all officers of the corporation, inquire into all reasonable complaints made against them or any of them, and cause all their neglects or violations of official duty to be promptly corrected or reported to the proper tribunal for trial and punishment. He shall have power, whenever he may deem it necessary, to require of any of the officers of the city, to exhibit all their official books and papers in any wise pertaining to the affairs of their office and to the city.
