(A) Only the Chief of Police or Captain will give press releases.
(B) In the event that a question arises concerning the release of information that is not addressed in this policy or the public records request policy, the Chief of Police or Captain will be contacted and their instructions followed.
(C) For the purpose of this policy, CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION is any information concerning criminal investigations, court actions (other than those of public record), law enforcement personnel actions, information contained in any report made by or received by a law enforcement agency, or any sensitive information obtained by a member of this office.
(D) Violation of this policy, concerning the release of information, will result in sanctions determined by the Chief of Police.
