(A) This section may be known and may be cited as “Section to Impose a Monthly 911 Charge.”
(B) (1) A monthly charge of $1 is hereby imposed upon each exchange access facility subscribed to by telephone subscribers whose exchange access lines are in the area served or which would be served by the 911 service for the county. This charge shall be known as the “911 charge.”
(2) The 911 charge shall become effective on March 1, 1990.
(3) An emergency telephone system fund is hereby established for the purpose of depositing funds from the 911 charge and expending funds for the purposes as stated in G.S. § 62A-40 et seq.
