For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS. The Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners.
BUILDING SETBACK. The distance from a specified point within which no structure shall be erected.
BUILDING SITE. A parcel or plat of land of sufficient size to meet minimum requirements for use, coverage and area, and used for the locations of a building or a multi-family dwelling.
DEVELOPER. Any person, firm or corporation who develops any land deemed to be an apartment complex, duplex or condominium development as defined herein.
EASEMENT. A grant by the property owner for use by the public, a corporation or person(s) of a strip of land for specific purposes (utility, drainage, ingress-egress and the like).
ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. County Building Inspector or his or her authorized representative as appointed by the County Board of Commissioners to enforce the provisions of this subchapter.
HEALTH DIRECTOR. Pasquotank, Perquimans, Camden, Chowan Health Director or his or her authorized representatives.
MULTI-FAMILY DWELLING. Two or more single living units under the same roof structure and connected by one or more common walls. This includes, but is not limited to, apartments, duplexes, condominiums, triplexes, quadraplexes or other similar buildings which are for sale or rent and intended for human habitation.
PLANNING BOARD. Refers to the Pasquotank County Planning Board.
SHALL. Is always mandatory and not merely directory.
SINGLE LIVING UNIT. Area occupied by a single-family for the purpose of sleeping, eating and residing with at least one common wall to one or more living units.
