When amendments to, and new editions of, the Fire Prevention Code are published from time to time to the 87 CSR1, Title 87, Legislative Rule West Virginia State Fire Commission, Series 1 Fire Code (State Fire Code), it shall be the duty of the Fire Chief or designee thereof to file a copy of each thereof in the office of the Recorder and to notify the members of the City Council of such filing and his or her recommendations, if any, regarding such changes therein as he or she may deem advisable in the interests of the city. Upon adjournment of the second regular meeting of the City Council following such filing and notice by the Fire Chief or designee thereof, the amendments or new editions so filed by him and mentioned in his or her notice to the City Council shall be deemed to have been adopted by the Council for incorporation in this article as a part thereof, unless provided otherwise by the Council prior to adjournment of such second regular meeting, and such amendments or new editions shall become effective when the copies thereof in the office of the City Recorder have been certified by the Mayor in compliance with the requirements of W. Va. Code 8-11-4(b).
