It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to attend all meetings of the City Council, or cause a competent police officer to do so, to serve as sergeant at arms and maintain order in the Council Chamber and in the immediate vicinity thereof; and to execute all lawful orders and process directed to him or her by the Council or by its presiding officer.
