Before entering upon the duties of his office, the City Engineer shall take the oath prescribed by the Charter and shall give bond in the sum provided under Article 139, with good security to be approved by Council conditioned to faithfully discharge the duties of his office and to faithfully account for and deliver over all property of the City which may come into his hands or custody, or under his control by virtue of his office.
