§ 30.30 MUNICIPAL ATTORNEY.
   (A)   The City Council, pursuant to Tex. Loc. Gov’t Code, § 22.071, hereby creates the municipal officer position of Municipal Attorney.
   (B)   The Municipal Attorney shall be licensed to practice law in this state, shall maintain that law license in good standing with the State Bar of this state, and shall maintain malpractice insurance while acting as an officer of the municipality.
   (C)   The Municipal Attorney shall represent the city in all legal matters pertaining to the city at the discretion and direction of the City Council. The Municipal Attorney shall not permit conflicts to occur by rendering legal advice or representing agents, employees, or officers of the city, whether individually or collectively, except in their official capacities as agents, employees, or officers of the city, and then only in matters pertaining to the city and in the best interest of the city.
