(A) All officers and employees of the town are entitled to take three workdays off with pay to attend the funeral and take care of personal matters related to the death of a member of his or her immediate family. For the purpose of this section, his or her immediate family includes his or her parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, great grandparents, mother-in-law and father-in-law (step relationship is included).
(B) An excused absence for family death may not be retroactive, postponed or split.
