A sign which is not in conformance with the provisions of this Chapter shall be considered exempt from the provisions of this Chapter, provided said sign is associated with a Special Use approved by Ordinance adopted by the Village Council in conformance with Chapter 1278 of this Code and, provided said sign is specifically approved, pursuant to Section 1278.03 of this Code, as an authorized structure in said Special Use Ordinance, or any amendment thereto. Signs eligible for this exemption shall not be exempt from the permitting requirements provided for in this Chapter. Said exemption shall not prohibit any person from obtaining a permit to construct a sign that is in compliance with the provisions of this Chapter, on property that is subject to a Special Use Ordinance, unless said sign would violate a specific condition of said Special Use Ordinance.
