Gate posts shall be permitted in the Village, provided that the following conditions are met:
(a) Gate posts must be set back at least three feet from the property line.
(b) The maximum height of a gate post shall be six feet, excluding light fixtures.
(c) Appropriate and firm footings shall support all gate posts, which shall be approved by the Building Department.
(d) Gates, when attached to their posts, shall be no higher than 1.5 feet above the height of the post as measured at the center of the gate and shall be operable by Fire Department personnel and shall comply with all applicable Fire Department regulations.
(e) Gate posts can be extended with a decorative wall. The maximum length of the combined gate post and wing wall shall be a maximum of eight feet on each side of the gate. The wing wall shall be an average height of four feet.
(f) The minimum clear distance between gate posts, including hardware, shall be ten feet.
(g) The street number of the dwelling must be prominently displayed on at least one of the gate posts.
(h) A building permit must be obtained for all gate posts, and the application for a permit should contain a suitable drawing showing compliance with this section.
(i) No overhead arches are permitted between gate posts.
