Any fence or gate post which was in existence on May 12, 2014 and which does not conform to the requirements of the Village Code may continue as a legal non-conforming fence or gate post. Any such fence or gate post may be maintained and repaired however reconstruction or replacement shall be subject to the following standards and the issuance of a permit. A permit shall be issued to replace said damaged or destroyed fence or gate post, provided that no new nonconformities are created, and that the existing degree of nonconformity is not increased by said replacement.
