GENERAL CRITIRIA
Good
Less than 20% deadwood
No other observed problems
Medium
20-50% deadwood
A few observed problems such as decay, withering leaves, cracks
Poor
More than 50% deadwood
Many observed problems - extensive disease, insects, structural defects
 
Note: These criteria are guidelines. A certified arborist may recommend for the Building Department approval the health condition of a tree and whether it should be saved, treated, or removed.
