No booster pump or other apparatus intended to increase water pressure shall be installed unless a tank or reservoir is provided between the meter and such pump or apparatus. Such tank or reservoir shall be covered, shall be provided with a vent or overflow to the atmosphere and shall be so designed as to prevent a direct hydraulic connection between the meter and the pump or pressure-increasing apparatus.
