(a) Conformity with Flood Plain Chapter. All projects constructed within a flood plain area shall conform to the requirements of Chapter 1462 of the Building and Housing Code. Among other requirements, this chapter provides that manholes within the flood plain must have a rim elevation thirty inches above the flood crest elevation, or must be provided with watertight, lock-type covers, and shall not be lower than the flood crest elevation.
(b) Limits of Flood Plain. The flood crest elevation and the limits of the flood plain are as established in Chapter 1462 based on the USGS maps. The portion of the project lying within the flood plain shall be delineated and the limits of the flood plain shall be clearly indicated on the overall plan.
