688.02 POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS.
   (a)   Dangerous weapons for the purpose of this section are defined as any bow and arrow, crossbow, slingshot, wrist rocket, air gun, air pistol, spring gun, spring pistol, B-B gun, paint ball gun, pellet gun or any implement that is not a firearm which impels a breakable paint ball containing washable or non-washable marking colors or a pellet constructed of hard plastic, steel, lead or other hard materials with a force that reasonably is expected to cause bodily harm.
   (b)   It is unlawful for any person under eighteen years of age to have in his or her possession, except in his or her domicile, any dangerous weapon as defined in subsection (a) above.
   (c)   It is unlawful for any person of any age to permit or allow to be transported, in any vehicle he or she is driving, any dangerous weapon as defined in subsection (a) above, except if such instrument is not loaded and is contained within a carrying case which is located in the trunk or other compartment of the vehicle separate from the driver and passengers.
   (d)   It is unlawful for any person to fire or discharge on any street, public parkway, public alley, park, or other public area in the Village, any such dangerous weapon as is defined in subsection (a) above.
   (e)   It is unlawful for any dealer or any other person to sell, lend, rent, give, or otherwise transfer any dangerous weapon as defined in subsection (a) above to any person under the age of eighteen years old.
   (f)   The prohibitions set forth in subsections (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall not apply to licensed shooting ranges or galleries or on private grounds or premises under circumstances when such instrument can be fired, discharged, or operated in such a manner as not to endanger persons or property, and also in such manner as to prevent the projectile from traversing any grounds or space outside the limits of such range, gallery or private grounds; and further provided that nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent the concealed carrying of any such dangerous weapon as defined in subsection (a) above when unloaded, properly cased, and when in a vehicle located in the trunk or other compartment of the vehicle separate from the driver and passengers, to and from any licensed range or gallery.
