420.01 ADOPTION OF THE ILLINOIS VEHICLE CODE.
   There is hereby adopted for the purpose of prescribing regulations for pedestrians and the operation of vehicles on the Village streets, that certain code known as the Illinois Vehicle Code, being in particular Act 5 of Chapter 625 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes, as amended from time to time, one copy of which code has been on file for at least thirty days prior to the adoption of this section, and now is filed, in the office of the Village Clerk, and the same is hereby adopted and represented as fully as if set out at length herein, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the Village. For purposes of citing persons for violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code, as adopted by this section, a reference to that portion of the Illinois Compiled Statutes section number listed after the slash mark, preceded by the letter "V," shall be used, (Example: 625 ILCS 5/11-601 shall be referenced as V11-601), and the local ordinance violation box on the Uniform Traffic Citation shall be checked.
