256.10 ILLINOIS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT FUND; STANDARD FOR PARTICIPATION.
   (a)   The Village hereby elects to participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, effective January 1, 1989.
(Ord. 1988-56. Passed 8-22-88.)
   (b)   The standard for participation in the Fund shall be an employment position normally requiring performance of duty of 1,000 or more hours per year as defined by the Village in the official job description. With respect to part-time employees with the Village, there shall be two categories of part-time employment positions: Class A (IMRF Participating) and Class B (IMRF Non-Participating), as follows:
      (1)   Class A part-time employment positions shall consist of those part-time positions defined by the Village in the official job description as normally requiring at least 1,000, but not more than 1,560 calendar hours, per year and thus shall involve participation in the Fund.
      (2)   Class B part-time employment positions shall consist of those part-time positions defined by the Village in the official job description as normally requiring fewer than 1,000 calendar hours per year and thus shall not involve participation in the Fund.
The designation of any part-time classification as Class A or Class B shall be determined solely by the official job description as determined by the Village in its discretion. The actual number of hours worked by an individual part-time employee in any given calendar year shall have no effect on that employee's part-time classification, or the employee's IMRF participation status.
(Ord. 1999-37. Passed 9-13-99; Ord. 2018-06. Passed 2-26-18.)
   (c)   The Village Clerk shall file a certified copy of this section with the Board of Trustees of the Fund.
(Ord. 1988-56. Passed 8-22-88.)
