A Village Clerk shall be elected for a four-year term by the legal voters of the Village at the same election as Council. The Village Clerk shall possess the same qualifications for office as members of Council, as provided under Illinois Statutes, and shall take the oath of office and perform the duties required under State law and local ordinance. The Village Clerk shall receive the same compensation as other Council members, except for the office of Mayor.
