The street layout shall be devised for the most advantageous development of the entire neighborhood area. Where necessary to the neighborhood pattern, existing principal streets in adjoining subdivisions shall be continued, and shall be at least as wide as existing streets and in alignment with them. The street layout shall provide for the future projection of the principal streets into unsubdivided lands adjoining.
