§ 100.02 CITY FIRE INSPECTOR.
   (A)   There may be created the office of city fire inspector upon the recommendation of the building commissioner and the license, permits and franchise committee. The city fire inspector shall be appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the city council. The recommendations of the fire chiefs of the fire protection districts serving the city shall be solicited and considered in such appointment.
   (B)   The city fire inspector services and, or plan reviews may also be made by approved professional fire inspection services companies or persons certified and insured as same, as recommended by the building commissioner and approved by the license, permits and franchise committee.
   (C)   The city fire inspector may designate such subordinates as he may deem necessary to carry out the duties of his office, and shall transmit the names of such subordinates to the mayor for his approval. Any subordinates approved by the mayor may be called “deputy fire inspectors.”
