§ 94.17 HOUSE NUMBERING SYSTEM.
   (A)   The official house numbering system of the city shall be an extension and continuation of the house numbering system in effect in the City of Chicago, Illinois except for other numbering systems approved by City Council. ('69 Code, §17-16)
   (B)   The City Clerk shall keep a chart showing the proper street number of every lot in the city which shall be open to inspection by anyone interested.
   (C)   It shall be the duty of the owners and occupants of every house, building, or other structure in the city to have placed thereon, in a place visible from the street, in daylight and darkness, figures at least two and one-half inches high, and one-half inch wide, showing he number of the house, building, or other structure thereon. Addresses may be permanently affixed to house, building, or other structure by sign or by painting the address thereon.
   (D)   Any person, firm, or corporation shall have a period of six months from the effective date of this section to comply, for existing structures. New construction shall comply immediately.
   (E)   Any person, firm, or corporation failing to so number any house, building, or other structure occupied by him, or if after receiving notice from the city, after said compliance period, shall continue in his failure to so number such house, building, or structure, may be fined up to $100.
