(A) It is declared unlawful for any person under the age of 18 years to be in possession of any of the following items:
(1) Bowie, switchblade, ballistic knives, knives with a blade length in excess of three inches, throwing stars, or other edged weapons as defined by ILCS Ch. 720, Act 5, § 24-1(1);
(2) Metallic knuckles or numchucks;
(3) Slingshots;
(4) Arrows designed for firing from a bow or crossbow device, except when such person is engaged in lawful hunting, supervised target shooting on private property, or the otherwise legal transportation of such device;
(5) Air rifles as defined by ILCS Ch. 720, Act 535, § 1(1), except when such person is engaged in supervised target shooting on private property;
(6) Stun gun or taser;
(7) Any device or attachment of any kind designed, used or intended for use in silencing the report of a firearm;
(8) Machine gun as defined by ILCS Ch. 720, Act 5, § 24-1(7);
(9) Any bomb, bombshell, grenade, bottle or other container containing an explosive substance of over one-quarter ounce for like purposes, such as, but not limited to, black powder bombs, molotov cocktails, pipe- bombs or artillery projectiles;
(10) Firearms, or the ammunition thereof, as defined by ILCS Ch. 430, Act 65, § 1.1, except when such person is engaged in lawful hunting, supervised target shooting, or the otherwise legal transportation of such device;
(11) Fireworks, as defined by ILCS Ch. 425, Act 30, § 2.
(B) It is unlawful for any parent or legal guardian to permit any person under the age of 18 years to be in, or come into, the unsupervised possession of any items listed in division (A) of this section.
