§ 52.15 TRUSS SEWER MAIN MATERIAL.
   Sewer mains may be constructed of truss material only under the following circumstances and subject to the following conditions:
   (A)   The truss sewer main may be used only to serve commercial and multifamily developments and may under no circumstances be used to serve single-family residences.
   (B)   The truss sewer main may be used only when the city council has received from the city engineer a written recommendation recommending such use because of conditions of the ground in which the pipe is to be located which favor such use, including, but not limited to, unstable ground with a high water content and, in addition to the recommendation of the city engineer, the city council shall have accepted the recommendation and shall have adopted a motion approving the use of such main.
   (C)   If the city council authorizes the use of a truss main, the main shall not be installed until there has been filed with the city a performance bond with surety to be approved by the city council, in an amount to be determined by the city council, the condition of which bond shall be that the truss main to be installed shall adequately and safely serve as sewer main for a period of not less than 10 years, during which period of time the performance bond shall remain in force and effect.
