§ 34.50 RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD; CREATION, APPOINTMENT, TERMS.
   (A)   Creation. There is created a parks and recreation advisory board (RAB) for the City of Palos Heights, which shall be comprised of seven members, each whom shall be a resident of the city. The members of the board shall be appointed by the mayor of the city, appointments of whom shall be confirmed by the majority of the city council. All members of the RAB shall serve without compensation and shall not hold any other municipal office, except that members of the RAB may serve on other temporary committees, task forces, or similar ad hoc groups. The terms of board members will be for four years. Terms of RAB members will be staggered. Appointments shall be made and expire on the first day of April of any given year.
   (B)   Appointment. Appointments to fill vacancies shall follow, as in the case of other appointments for the unexpired term of the member whose term became vacant.
   (C)   Terms. Upon the failure of any member to attend three consecutive meetings, the RAB may recommend termination of that appointment to the city council, and the city council may remove the incumbent from the RAB and declare the position vacant, to be filled in the manner of a regular appointment.
