§ 117.08 WARNING LIGHTS ON VENDING VEHICLES.
   (A)   Flashing warning lamps required. All vending vehicles which operate upon and use any of the public streets or ways in city for the purpose of vending merchandise on said streets such as, but not limited to, ice cream, candy, sandwiches, drinks or other similar merchandise, shall effective be required to have installed on and in good operating condition at all times while vending such merchandise on the public streets or ways some type of flashing warning lamps as follows.
      (1)   Lamps used to display such warning to the front shall be mounted at the same level and as widely spaced laterally as practicable and shall display simultaneously flashing amber or red lights or any shade of color between white and amber.
      (2)   The lights used to display such warning to the rear shall be mounted at the same level as a widely separated laterally as practicable and shall shoe simultaneously flashing amber or red lights or any shade between amber and red.
      (3)   These warning lights shall be visible from a distance of not less than 500 feet during normal atmospheric conditions at night.
   (B)   Police Chief to approve type of light. Said flashing warning light shall be of a type first approved by the Chief of Police of the city’s Police Department.
   (C)   Operation of flashing warning lights. Said light shall be turned on and operating at any and all times when the vehicle on which the light is located is stopped on any of the public streets or ways in the city and the owner or operator is at the time engaged in the selling of merchandise, and for a period of at least one minute prior to coming to a stop and for one minute after the vehicle again begins to move.
   (D)   Unlawful use of vending vehicle. It shall be unlawful for any owner or operator of such vending vehicle to engage in the vending of such merchandise on any of the public streets or way of the city without having first installed on said vehicle a warning light, and without having said light turned on and having same operation while and for one minute before stopping for sale and for one minute after completing the sale and resuming motion.
