All motor vehicles, being operated by members of the Fire Department (whether paid or in voluntary service), in the course of answering an alarm or reporting to firefighting or other emergency duties, in addition to fire trucks, other emergency vehicles and police vehicles belonging to the city, are hereby designated as “authorized emergency vehicles” within the meaning and intent of Tex. Transportation Code § 541.201, as amended.
