CITY OF PALM VALLEY
SCHEDULE OF BUILDING PERMIT FEES
(EFFECTIVE MAY 7, 2015)
For the building only:
Figure the square footage first. Then take the square footage and figure the dollar amount. Example: If the structure is 30' x 100', the total square footage is 3,000 sq. ft. If the estimated construction cost is $50 per square foot, then the total value of the building permit is $150,000.

$60.00 for the first $1,000 plus $5.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $50,000.

$305.00 for the first $50,000 plus $4.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $100,000.
 
 
$100,000 to $500,000
$505.00 for the first $100,000 plus $3.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $500,000.
 
 
$500,000 and up
$1,705.00 for the first $500,000 plus $2.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof.
 
 
Inspection and re-inspection fees:
$60.00 per inspection
 
CONTRACTOR'S REGISTRATION FEE:
$100.00 for one year.
MOVING FEE: (relocating a structure from one location to another)

DEMOLITION FEE:
For the demolition of any building or structure, the fee shall be:
Up to 100,000 Cu. Ft. of material:    $75.00
100,000 Cu. Ft. and over:          $0.51 / 1,000 cubic ft.
PLAN CHECK FEES:
Plan check fees are 1/2 of the building permit fee and are in addition to the building permit fee. Example: if the building permit fee totals $1,000, the plan check fee is $500 for a total of $1,500.
GAS PERMIT FEE:
The gas permit fee is a $60;00 minimum fee or $2.00 per outlet (whichever is greater).
ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEE:
The electrical permit fee is a $60.00 minimum fee or $1.50 per circuit (whichever is greater); $5.00 for the temporary pole and $5.00 for the meter.
PLUMBING PERMIT FEE:
The plumbing permit fee is a $60.00 minimum fee or $1.00 per fixture (whichever is greater); $2.50 for the yard line; $2.50 for the water heater and an additional permit fee of $10.00.
CURB BREAK FEE:
There is a charge of $60.00 per curb break.
MECHANICAL FEE:
There is a charge of $60.00.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY:
There is a charge of $25.00 for the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy.
DRIVEWAYS PERMIT:
There is a charge of $60.00.
FENCE PERMIT:
There is a charge of $60.00.
PENALTIES
When work for which a permit is required by this Building Ordinance is started prior to obtaining a permit, the fees herein specified shall be DOUBLED. However, the payment of such double fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying with requirements of this Code in the execution of the work.
