The Zoning Commission shall consist of five members to be appointed by the City Council for a term of three years. Any member of the Zoning Commission may be removed at any time by a two-thirds vote of the City Council. Should a member of the Commission fail to attend three consecutive regular meetings of the Commission, he or she will be deemed to have abandoned membership in the Commission and a vacancy shall be thereupon automatically declared. The members of the Commission shall be selected for their outstanding and unselfish interest in the protection of the health, safety, welfare and morals of the citizens of the city.
