The Town Council shall have the power to require the Town Clerk and other officers, including its own members, before any of them enters upon the duties of his or her office, within the time as it may prescribe, to enter into a good and sufficient bond conditioned as it may require for the faithful performance of his or her duties, and it may from time to time require further or additional bonds. The Town Council may declare the office vacant for failure of the officer to execute the bond.
