(A) Economic Development.
(1) Responsible for general business assistance, attracting, retaining, and providing favorable conditions for the growth of target industries and businesses that provide high quality employment opportunities for the citizens of Palm Bay and enhances the economic tax base of the City.
(2) Responsible for administering economic development incentives and programs. This Division is responsible for the issuance of passports, Business Tax Receipts and conducts lien searches. The Division also tracks liens for tax deed certificates and processes tax deed sales.
(B) Housing and Community Development.
(1) Administer, monitor, and report annually on a variety of federal and state-funded housing and community development programs to provide a wide range of neighborhood and community development strategies for the citizens of Palm Bay, to include housing grant programs and support services for very low-, low-, and moderate-income residents of the Palm Bay, affordable housing solutions, fair housing, public services, public facilities and other improvements. Staff members of the Division serve as a liaison to the Community Development Advisory Board.
