Any bicycle impounded by the Police Department which is unclaimed by its owner shall, after thirty (30) days, be sold by the Chief of Police or his designee at a public sale held at the police station. Notice of such sale shall be published in the local newspapers each day for three (3) consecutive days, seven (7) days prior to sale. Proceeds from such unclaimed, impounded bicycles shall be deposited in the general fund of the city.
