The Building Inspector, as a condition of the issuance of any permit, may require the applicant to post a performance bond to insure compliance with this subchapter and the terms of any such permit. The amount of such bond shall not exceed $.20 per cubic foot for excavations, or $.15 per cubic foot for fills. The bond shall be released by the Building Inspector upon satisfactory completion of the excavation or fill in accordance with the permit and without damage to any other property.
