§ 37.22  STREET SUPERVISOR.
   (A)   Class title.  Street Supervisor.
   (B)   Characteristics of class. Under general supervision, assigns, instructs and supervises work crews for the Street Department, serving as crew foreman/leader and performing work as needed; and does related work as required.
   (C)   Examples of duties.  Assigns personnel to work crews.  Gives oral instructions. Supervises work in progress on a continuous basis, seeing that the job is completed.  Lays tile, concrete blocks, black top.  Patches blacktop. Cleans storm sewers. Sweeps streets. Hauls rock, tree limbs, trash.  Repairs curbs.  Orders supplies for construction and maintenance.  As needed, paints curbs, parking spaces; runs equipment; makes and posts street signs. Supervises collection and disposal of trash. Orders and keeps records of petroleum products used by departments.
   (D)   Minimum qualifications.
      (1)   Training and experience.  Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED) supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in light or heavy equipment operation.
      (2)   Special necessary requirements.
         (a)   Ability to pass physical examination.
         (b)   Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
         (c)   Ability to work under all types of weather conditions.
         (d)   May be subject to emergency callback.
      (3)   Special knowledge, skills and abilities.  Working knowledge of construction and maintenance requirements and techniques. Working knowledge of departmental rules and regulations.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials and the general public.  Supervisory ability. Communications abilities. Dependability. Tact. Firmness. Initiative. Resourcefulness. Integrity.
