(a) The duties of the Director of Law shall be to attend the meetings of Council and to prepare all necessary legislation, counsel and advise and render legal opinions to officers, boards and commissions of the City in their official capacities and to prosecute and defend all actions brought on behalf of or against the City in the Municipal Court.
(b) The Director of Law shall receive as compensation for his services the sum provided in Section 167.09.
