143.02 SERVICE TO OTHER MUNICIPALITIES.
   (a)   Pursuant to Ohio R. C. 9.60 and 737.041, as amended, Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, the Chief of the Fire Division, and the officers on duty in charge of the Fire Division, to render the services of the Fire Division to other municipalities, townships, counties or the State in times of emergency, whether or not the City has entered into mutual aid contracts for fire services with any of those political subdivisions or the State. The determination of "times of emergency" shall be made only by the City Manager, the Chief of the Fire Division or the officers on duty in charge of the Fire Division upon a call for emergency fire protection services by the State or another political subdivision of this State.
   (b)   The personnel of the Fire Division rendering emergency services to other political subdivisions shall, as provided by State law, be entitled to all of their usual wages and benefits, shall be covered by Workers' Compensation, and shall be immune from any liability arising from the reasonable good faith rendered of emergency fire protection services.
