(a) No person shall, from the effective date of this article, construct, install, establish, operate or maintain an outdoor wood burning stove/furnace other than in compliance with the applicable sections of this article.
(b) No person shall, from the effective date of this article, operate an existing outdoor wood burning stove/furnace unless such operation conforms with the manufacturer’s instructions regarding such operation and the requirements of this article regarding fuels that may be burned in an outdoor wood burning stove/furnace as set forth in this article.
(c) All new outdoor wood burning stoves/furnaces shall be installed upon a nominal six-inch thick permanent, reinforced cement pad in such dimension, so as to allow a minimum of six (6) inches of exposed surface area along the perimeter of the pad.
(d) All new outdoor wood burning stoves/furnaces shall be constructed, established, installed, operated and maintained in conformance with the manufacturer’s instructions and the requirements of this article. In the event of a conflict, the requirements of this article shall apply unless the manufacturer’s instructions are stricter, in which case, the manufacturer’s instructions shall apply.
(e)
The owner of any new outdoor wood burning stove/furnace shall produce the manufacturer’s owner’s manual or installation instructions to the Water/Street/Maintenance Superintendent and the Paden City Fire Chief to review and approval prior to installation.
(f) All new outdoor wood burning stoves/furnaces shall meet all applicable federal, state and local safety standards including UL, CSA, ANSI and other customary safety standards.
(g) The chimney heights of any new outdoor wood burning stove/furnace shall extend at least two (2') feet above the peak of any residence not served by the outdoor wood burning stove/furnace located within 60 feet of such outdoor wood burning stove/furnace.
